From the Academia Sinica to ASIAA/NTU

ASIAA is located on the campus of the National Taiwan University (NTU), which is different from the Academia Sinica main campus in Nangang District. The distance between A.S. main campus and ASIAA is about 30 minutes by car; one hour by Taipei Metro (MRT) plus bus. A free shuttle bus between A.S. and NTU is available for employees.

Route 1 : Nangang Line > Xindian Line
  1. Take the bus (line 212 or 270 or MRT shuttle) to MRT Kunyang station.
  2. Take the Nangang Line to Taipei Main Station.
  3. Transfer to Xindian Line and get off at the Taipower Building Station or Gongguan Station.
  4. It's a 15~20 minute walk from either station.
  5. Alternatively, several bus lines are available from MRT Gongguan Station to the bus stop of Civil Service Development Institute where ASIAA is located.
Route 2 : Nangang Line > Bus
  1. Take the MRT Nangang Line at Kunyang station.
  2. Get off at Zhongxiao Xinsheng station.
  3. Walk to the intersection Xinsheng S. Rd. and Zhongxiao E. Rd. and take a bus in the direction to NTU (line 505, 280, 290, 642, 643, 311, etc).
  4. Get off the bus at the stop of Civil Service Development Institute. Cross Xinsheng S. Rd. and take a five minutes walk along Xinhai Rd.
Route 3 : Nangang Line > Muzha Line
  1. Take the bus (line 212 or 270 or MRT shuttle) to MRT Kunyang station.
  2. Take the Nangang Line to Zhongxiao Fuxing Station.
  3. Transfer to Muzha Line and get off at the Technology Building Station.
  4. It's a 15-minute walk from Technology Building Station to ASIAA.
  5. There are also bus lines available from MRT Technology Building Station to the bus stop of Civil Service Development Institute.

From the International Airport to Taipei downtown

Most international flights land in Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (Airport Code: TPE) which is situated 40km (24.8 miles) southwest of Taipei. It takes about an hour by car to get to most places in Taipei downtown in moderate traffic..

By Taxi
Taxis queue outside the Arrival Halls of both Terminal Ι and Terminal II of Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport. Airport taxis charge according to the meter plus a 50% surcharge (highway tolls not included). Typical fare to Taipei downtown is around NT$1,100 (NT$1,200 to Academia Sinica/ NTU; NT$1,700 to Academia Sinica). Note: Please ignore any solicitations of taxi service inside the Arrival Hall. Do hire one at the official taxi stop.
By Limousine Arranged by ASIAA
ASIAA can arrange a pick-up service for you at your request. The driver will meet you at the Tourist Service Center at Terminal I or Information Desk at Terminal II with a sign bearing your name. The cost of the pick-up service is about NT$1,200 and the journey takes 60 to 90 mins. You may pay at the ASIAA front office after you arrived.
By Bus
There are several long-distance bus companies provide frequent services between Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport and downtown Taipei. Ticket counters are located in the Arrival Passenger Reception Areas of both Terminals. Luggage is self served. Adult single fares vary from NT$ 110 to $140 depending on the location of the terminal stop in Taipei. English flyers are distributed on the ticket counter. Most clerks are able to speak English and Japanese. For more information, please visit transportation information provided by the airport.
  1. Recommended Bus Routes to ASIAA/NTU: Take the Evergreen Bus to the MRT Zhongxiao Xinsheng Station. Take take a bus to the bus stop "Civil Service Development Institute".
  2. Recommended Bus Routes to Academia Sinica in Nangang: Take the Kuokuang Bus, Freego Bus to the terminal stop (Taipei Songshan Airport). The Taxi fare is between NT$ 200 to NT$300 to Academia Sinica. Another option is to take MRT Nangang Line, then transfer to bus to Academia Sinica.
