To understand the development of the cosmic reionization, the phase change of the intergalactic medium, we perform series absorption tests on the spectrum of one of the highest redshift quasar, PSO J006.1240+39.2219. The quasar is at z = 6.62, which was discovered in 2016 from the Pan-STARRS1 survey. We obtain a higher resolution near IR spectrum with the Subaru/FOCAS 8m telescope to carry out further study on its Gunn-Peterson trough. In this talk, I will present the results of the absorption tests, include (1) the transmission and the optical depth, (2) the quasar’s near zone size, (3) the dark gaps distribution and (4) the upper limit of the neutral fraction, some of them are previously constrained at z~6, we extend the study to z~6.5.
