Yusei Koyama (Subaru Telescope)
The unique capability of ULTIMATE-Subaru - which delivers 0.2-arcsec spatial resolution over ~15-arcmin FoV - will bring significant impacts on various science fields in astronomy from studies of the very early universe to the present-day universe (including our Galaxy). In this presentation, based on the extensive discussion within the ULTIMATE-Subaru science team over the last few years, we will focus on the scientific motivation, survey design, and the expected outcome of ULTIMATE-Subaru, including its great synergy with the existing Subaru facilities (HSC/PFS) as well as future space missions. We will also introduce the current status of ULTIMATE-Subaru science team and its activity so far - and want to discuss potential involvement of the Taiwanese colleagues to help our science case development. Following our successful collaboration history between Taiwan and Subaru, we are keen to share the bright future and work together toward 2020s and beyond.
