To understand the nature of progenitor systems of Type Ia supernovae (SNe Ia), we use two methods to search for surviving companions within the central region of two Balmer-dominated SN remnants (SNRs) in the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC): SNR 0505-67.9 (DEM L71) and SNR 0548-70.4. In the first method, we compare photometric measurements of stars with those expected from models of post-impact evolution of surviving companions. In the second method, we use stellar spectra to search for high peculiar velocities to diagnose surviving companions. In DEM L71, we found a type A star moving at a radial velocity that lies outside 3 times standard deviations of the mean velocity of stars within the central region. It has a 0.3% probability of having this peculiar velocity. In SNR 0548-70.4, we found a few stars lie near the expected evolutionary tracks of the post-impact surviving companions in the color-magnitude diagram (CMD).
