The detection of gravitational wave events opens an entire new observing window of astrophysics and gravitational wave research has become a new frontier in science. The third LIGO/Virgo observing run (O3) is now underway. Meanwhile, the Japanese underground detector, KAGRA, is on schedule to join O3 in late-2019. As one of the major partners of KAGRA, Taiwan is making good progress in both science and hardware development. In this short progress report, I will report the current status of gravitational wave research activities in Taiwan.
