Huge apertures required for radio telescopes have become a major engineering problem. Both weight and cost are factors that limit the manufacture of radio telescopes. This project changes the design of radio telescopes. We replace previous single parabola design with the superposition of multiple parabolas with different focal lengths. The modified design achieves the goal of reducing the structural weights and the manufacturing costs of radio telescopes. We plan to design a 1.2-meter-caliber millimeter-wave telescope as a test target, which is expected to be used in the manufacture of large-aperture radio telescopes in the future.
