Photometry survey of Near-Earth Asteroids at Lulin Observatory

A program of photometric survey of NEAs has been initiated at Lulin since 2010 Jan. To date we have observed 373 asteroids and classified them into seven type by their color using Bus-DeMeo taxonomy. They are mostly sub-km sized objects with S- (27%) and Q-type (23%) as the main components. Only 10% are C-type. S-type is redder and darker than Q-type, which has mean albedo 0.26 and 0.29 for Q-type. The color index of Q-type is also smaller than S-type which means Q-type is bluer. The main orbital type of our asteroids are Amor (51%) and Apollo (39%). We found that there is more abundance of Q-type asteroids in Apollo. On the basis of this data sample, statistical studies of the orbital characteristics and size dependence of different types of NEAs are compared with the purpose of understanding the relationship between the S-type and Q-type objects.
