The influence of stellar rotation and metallicity on the core-collapse supernova progenitors and explosion engines

The detailed structure of core-collapse supernova progenitors is crucial for studies of supernova explosion engines and multimessenger signals, albeit many supernova simulations still relied on the Kepler models from Woosley and Heger for more than a decade ago. In this project, we use the MESA stellar evolution code to investigate the influence of stellar rotation and metallicity on the supernova progenitors and then conduct multidimensional core-collapse supernova simulations to explore the impact of realistic rotating progenitors on supernova explosion engines.
